Melanie Lotter respects her client’s rights to privacy and data protection as enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa. All personal data collected, stored and disposed of in this practice will be handled with both competency and accountability.

Personal Information refers to all data collected from a client which makes them identifiable as an individual – such as name, ID number and email addresses.

  1. Collection of Personal Information: Only essential information will be recorded, with a client having an option as to what they omit on the online information form. With an awareness that Medical Aids do require basic details to be captured on the claim submitted to allow reimbursement of their members.

  2. Storage of Personal Information: Melanie Lotter will ensure reasonable measures are in place to ensure unauthorised access to personal information, both in rigorous manual procedures to process the data and in maintaining electronic systems to acceptable technical standards for stored data.

  3. Updating of Personal Information: It remains the client’s responsibility to ensure that all personal data given to Melanie Lotter is correct and updated if changes occur. If a client would like to receive a copy of the personal information held on them or would like to ask any question about this Privacy Policy please do not hesitate to contact me.

  4. Sharing Personal Information: Melanie Lotter will not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to a third party without your written consent.

  5. Cookie Policy: Melanie Lotter’s website uses cookies, which are small text files placed on your device to help the site provided a better service. You may however prefer to disable cookies on this site. The most effective way to so this is to disable cookies in your browser.

  6. Electronic Communications: The client in using Melanie Lotter’s website consents to the website’s agreements, notices and disclosures, as in receiving electronic communication. This indicates that the legal requirement has been fulfilled.

This Manual is published in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) (“the Act”). The Act gives effect to the provisions of Section 32 of the Constitution, which provides for the right of access to information held by the State and to information held by another person or entity, where such information is required by someone to protect his/her rights.
